Meet Orietta Gianjorio, an expert food taster specialized in olive oil, wine, honey and chocolate. Today Orietta took us on a virtual tour of Italy, tasting different kind of olive oil from the north to the south.
We started from Liguria, passing trough Tuscany and Puglia and ending with Sicily. Roberto and I love olive oil, it’s the ingredient that is never missing in our kitchen, so for us this tasting was absolutely delightful. We had a wonderful time learning a ton of new staff and sipping delicious olive oil. It’s fascinating how different is one olive oil to another.
The key of a good finished product is to start with a good quality olive tree, but it’s not the only factor. Exactly like wine every step of the process is important and can be tasted when we bring the wine to our table.
