A culinary experience right in our neighborhood! Today we meet Nicola Mastronardi, master chef at the Vicenti Ristorante andh Maureen Vicenti owner and manager of the place. Nicola grew up in Puglia, the hill of the Italian boot J, he told us about his youth, memories of his parents, the summers spent at the beach and the food: simple, fresh and that can blow your mind away!
He has been cooking for all his life and he told us that all his recipes are inspired by those years spent in his home country before he moved to America. He can still remember the taste of a seafood sandwich eaten on a beautiful Southern Italian beach when he was just a kid and life was as simple as it can get.
When we tried the famous Nicola’s octopus salad we really understood his childhood memories, we could feel his passion in each bite. The dish was served lightly warm, the fish was super soft accompanied by fanciful vegetables that completed the taste of a perfect recipe.
Check out the video because this is a recipe you don’t want to miss.
My mom loves octopus and the next time she will be in town Vicenti Ristorante will be our first visit.
